The UPC in Vilanova hosts the Annual Meeting and General Assembly of the European GEORGE Project

2025-11-21

The UPC in Vilanova i la Geltrú has hosted last week the annual meeting and General Assembly of the GEORGE project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme.

The project, spanning 4.5 years (2023–2027), aims to improve marine observations through the development of new technologies and autonomous sensors, contributing to a better understanding of the role of the oceans in the carbon cycle and climate change.

During three days, representatives from the 28 international partners of the project gathered at the UPC Vilanova Campus, in an event organised by the SARTI research group. The programme included technical sessions, a visit to the group’s facilities and laboratories at the Technology Center, and a cultural visit to Espai Far in Vilanova.

With this meeting, the SARTI group reinforces its active participation in European marine research projects and its commitment to innovative ocean observation technologies.
