From 28 to 30 October 2025, the DEEP Discovery Days took place at the UPC Vilanova i la Geltrú Campus (EPSEVG), as part of the Erasmus+ DEEP Discovery project.

The event brought together teachers, students, and institutional representatives from several European countries to test and refine the digital educational materials developed within the project, aimed at bringing marine science and digital technology closer to secondary school classrooms.

The sessions included the participation of students from the Joaquim Mir High School in Vilanova i la Geltrú, as well as presentations by Meritxell Turó (ProBleu Project), María Elena Carbajal (BlueLightS Project), Carine Simon (Blue Schools Network of Catalonia) and Teresa Vidal (Garraf Coastal and Natural Environment Service), who shared initiatives and experiences to strengthen the link between research, education, and marine sustainability.

According to Joaquim del Río, local coordinator of the project, “DEEP Discovery shows how collaboration between scientists and teachers can create new ways to inspire young people’s interest in marine science.”
