Researcher Vicente Parisi, from the SARTI group, has led the development of an innovative biometric measurement system for the swordfish fishery, now operational on board the Nuevo Tío Juan vessel from the CARBOPESCA fleet.

The system integrates a camera and a scale connected to computer vision software, enabling automatic recording of the size and weight of the specimens caught. This technology improves catch control, reduces human error, and promotes a more efficient and sustainable fishery management.

This work is part of the iPROPEZESPADA project, in collaboration with CARBOPESCA, reaffirming their shared commitment to innovation in the fishing sector.
