The week of July 24-28, 2023, took place the first campaign at sea, more specifically in the Cala del Vigatà in Sant Feliu de Guixols, where several of the project partners, in this case UdG, UPM, Iqua and UPC performed the first joint tests of the different developments of the project, in order to verify the interoperability of the different hardware and software components.

The campaign had two parts, the first one took place at the facilities of the UdG and IquaRobotics groups at the CIRS, Centre de INvestigació i Robótica Submarina of the UdG, where the different fixed and mobile stations were tested.

The second part was the port of Sant Feliu de Guixols (Girona), from the port and by means of two boats, the deployments of the bottom, surface and underwater robot equipment were carried out in Cala Vigatà. In this case, the tests were carried out in the open sea, in an environment much more similar to the final environment of the project, which are the Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).

The objectives of the campaign were the verification of part of the electronic design, hardware and programming of the bottom stations, Landers, and surface proxy stations (UPC), the navigation of the underwater vehicle Girona1000 (UdG and Iqua Robotics) through its location referenced to the bottom stations and the development of middleware firmware (UPM) that implements the communications between the different devices and allows the interaction between them.
